Sweet & Sour; that’s the litmus of life! If you know what it feels like to have such experiences, then you, my friend, are right at home! I am strongly inclined to believe that we live for each other, and out there is a huge, authentic community of women, eager to share their story, as well as offer their support! It’s only the dusking of my Thirties, which means that the ground is still raw for learning, but gees, don’t I feel super qualified!

I have been writing, everything and nothing really, since middle school, (journaling chronicles), but I have had this blog in mind since 2016, a time when in retrospect, being a regular envoy of disappointment had led me to challenge the head of the Government that sent me to mercifully reconsider my assignment, but His answer had unsurprisingly remained the same; “My grace is sufficient for you!”  A lot has changed for the better, since then, especially pertaining my Spiritual growth.  Suffice to say, the incomparable work of grace, has taught me that there was and there still is nothing peculiar about my experiences! Everyone goes through it, in one way or another, because that’s just the way of life, but it’s our reaction to these situations that determines the entire outcome! That right there, was my inspiration! That we are all created with a free will, the ability to make a choice; giving rise to hope at the beginning, as well as the end of every matter!

Hello Litmus Concepts!

The natural condition of a blue litmus paper when in contact with a neutral/alkaline solution remains sweetly unchanging!  Dip it in an acidic solution on the other hand, and it takes a complete 180! It turns red; reacting to the sour condition that just messed up its homeostasis!  From my perspective, such is our design as human beings! Naturally sweet, and every other good thing that you can possibly think of, until soaked in difficult situations and we automatically burn up in flames! After all, they most often rear their ugly face into our lives unannounced, and though we are at times to blame for letting them sneak in due to our reckless choices, they still suck the life out of us! None of them, however, define who we are, for whilst they’re generally changing, our God remains constant! He is neither blue, nor red. He is love; our utmost defense mechanism and source of victory!

Our virtuous nature and the ability to maintain it when things are going well for us reveals the nature of God’s goodness, whereas the sour nature when effaced with difficulties, is meant to remind us of God’s goodness and restore our origin. Confronting these issues head-on and being honest with God about our feelings, helps build on our faith while teaching us how to trust in God. Suppressing them, on the other hand, drives us to keep up appearances. The root of bitterness creeps in, rendering our hearts despondent! Eventually, we lose our hope in God and turn to our own self binding efforts for vain solutions!  The good news, however, is that our freedom in Christ is solid and that’s final! He is good, His grace is sufficient and His mercies are from everlasting to everlasting; a truth my heart knows too well!

Being a woman is not the only sense that this blog fits into my life. In the zeal for independence and life’s limitless possibilities, I migrated to the US from my native country Kenya in my early adulthood. It’s been very fulfilling to serve and commune with people from different cultures and social backgrounds, as the potential to learn is endless!  I am also a wife and a waiting Mother, a Daughter, a Sister, an Aunt, a Godmother, a Registered Nurse, a Christian Women’s Ministry Leader, a Mentor to young girls and a Friend. I have had the privilege to hear other people’s irrepressible and sweet joys, as well as their wild and bitter outbursts! I have been intently listened to; sharpening the art of my listening as well. There’s truly a lot of litmus to life. Reverting to the original nature of who God says we are irrespective of our situations, is a free and available choice for us all!

Join me in unfolding our freedom, woman to woman, as we journey through life, ascribing honor, glory, power and strength to Him who first loved us! His will and intentions for us are good, for He is good! He is truth itself and He is life! We owe it to ourselves, this, to credulously believe!
